Vikram-Vedha, Jersey and many other upcoming remakes further raise questions on the credibility of Bollywood to come up with good original screenplay and exposes Bollywood as a money-making machine.

Watch the original of any remake made in Bollywood and you'll undoubtedly agree that the original one was better. Or watch the remake first and then the original, and you'll reach the same conclusion. No remake can raise Bollywood's standards, only original storytelling can. That's why I appreciate underrated and underbudgeted movies like Tumbbad, Masaan, Swades, and wel-budgeted and slightly overrated movies like Padmavat, Dangal, Tanhaji, because both these set of movies succeeded due to good storytelling. Bollywood should focus on making such original movies, and not on remakes, only that can raise its standards.
