The Night Silence
It speaks in silence, if you’re ready to listen
After a long day,
of work at office,
and at home.
People are indoors,
resting,
or at leisure.
Dogs are quiet.
Crickets are silent.
No noise from my devices.
Finally, the night feels comfortable
to talk to me.
I listen to the wonders
hidden in the silence of the night.
It tells me of the tales
occurred during this time.
It tells me of the immeasurable pain
of the tragedies,
the anxieties and anticipation.
A wedding, an exam, a surgery.
It tells me of the longing
that many people still yearn
to meet their long lost.
An accident, terminal illness, betrayal.
It tells me of the heroes,
our freedom fighters,
our soldiers,
our doctors,
the whole service industry.
It told me everything
and I didn’t miss a single word.
Then I heard a pause in the silence.
The pause lingered.
I moved to follow the silence
when I heard a voice,
familiar yet strange.
The voice talked to me.
I felt even more mesmerized.
I fell in love with that voice.
Stay the night with me, I pleaded,
when I heard it fade into the distance.
I am always here with you,
a faint voice replied,
silence your mind, and listen.
Don’t call, don’t crave, just listen.
And I will always respond.
