Thank you for writing about this change. I have stopped reading on Medium because of this. The disappointment to only be able to read initial few paragraphs feels like something has been snatched away after a promising glimpse.

Maybe this move increased more paid members for them but this would be only a short-term gain. I think in long-term, they may see less people joining even though percentage of renewals might increase.
