I Stubbed My Toe and Jammed My Finger

Consider minor injuries as the release of your negative energy

I consider minor injuries such as stubbing my toe or jamming my finger, or cutting my finger, to be very painful but also silly. It happened because I wasn’t paying attention. This irritates me and I chide myself for not taking proper care of myself.

However, as the hours or days pass while the injury heals, I feel better with the passing time. I enjoy the recovery process. I begin to feel more positive about myself and about life.

I believe that I get these minor injuries once in a while when the negativity in me has reached a certain threshold and is spilling out, looking for a way to be released. As I am a reserved person and don’t express myself very much, the negative thinking persists and festers in my mind until it gets a release in the form of a physical injury. The correlation between these injuries and my hyper-active pessimism might be a stretch but I like to consider this to be true, at least in my case.

I think my mind subconsciously tries to look for an excuse to get me a sprained ankle or a swollen finger so that it can get rid of the cesspool of negativity. That is why I get these injuries when I’m looking elsewhere. It comes as a painful surprise and I am caught off-guard. The only option left for me is to wait for the wound to heal.

I won’t correlate negativity to major injuries like a deep cut or a fracture due to a motor or machine accident, or even slipping on the floor and hurting your head or limbs. This is because I believe our mind is smart enough to release negativity in the easiest way possible for the body. For some people, the stubbing and jamming injuries may have long-term effects, depending on the severity of the injury, and that’s unfortunate. I don’t have any explanation for that.

In conclusion, I believe our negative outlook toward life affects our outcomes in the physical world. Hence I correlate minor injuries as an attempt to release such negativity. There is no scientific basis to it, this is just a thought of my musing mind. However, the healing process of a minor injury can be a good excuse to feel positive.
