Home — Where, What, Who, Why
Ruminating over the idea of home from different perspectives
Where is home?
An apartment close to workplace.
A faraway condo reminiscent of one’s childhood memories.
A new flat in a high-rise building bought with one’s partner.
What is home?
The walls, the roof, the windows and the door.
The decor with colors and showpieces adorning the space.
The paintings, photos and posters on the walls and desk.
Favorite clothes, shoes, equipments and toys in the closets.
Who is home?
The rush of warmth that provides comfort,
with their sight, touch, voice or mere presence.
Those who never judge you, and listen intently.
They don’t understand you but trust you nonetheless.
Their roof-like blessings and walls-like embrace,
makes each day worth living.
Why is home?
An anchor to keep us grounded.
A sense of belonging to know that we matter.
To call something or someone our own.
